Customs of Benin Headquarters
2027 • Cotonou • Office buildings • 27,700m2 • 8 floors
In a drive for modernization, the Ministry of Living Environment and Transport of Benin launched an ambitious project: the construction of a new headquarters for the Customs Service. This building, designed as a symbol of progress, meets the need to create a modern and functional environment to support customs operations and enhance the efficiency of Benin's customs services.
Concept & Design
The design of this project is inspired by the hunting horn, present in the logo of Benin Customs, which symbolizes vigilance.
Historically, the hunting horn was used to alert and communicate quickly, which aligns with the role of customs in protecting and monitoring borders, fighting fraud and smuggling, and facilitating legal trade. This image reflects the commitment of customs to remain attentive and responsive to threats and challenges.
This general form is thus stylized and duplicated symmetrically to serve as the basic shape for the project's footprint on the site.
